What you can expect...
1. Consultation
The best way to fully appreciate the endless possibilities available to you is to schedule a design consultation where you can peruse our wide variety of sample invitations and paper swatches.
Some things to consider before the consultation:
- Are you having a formal or casual event?
- What is your colour scheme?
- Is there a special symbol or motif you would like to include on your invitation?
- How many invitation sets do you require?
- Do you need RSVP cards, maps/directions cards, thank you cards?
- What about programs, menus and favour tags?
After the initial consultation, we will prepare an estimate for your review.
Invitations can be quoted based on three scenarios:
1. Full Service
Design, printing and assembly (assembly prices vary depending on the intricacy of your invitation)
2. No Assembly
We provide the design and printing services leaving the assembly to you (finished sample provided for guidance)
3. Paper only
For do-it-yourselfers!
2. Design
Upon acceptance of your quote, we require a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot within our design schedule and begin working on the custom design for your invitation.
Once payment is received and we have finished the initial invitation design, we will provide you with an electronic proof for your approval. After you have approved your proof, a 50% deposit is required, less your original $50 proof deposit.
At this time, you will also indicate invitation quantities so that we can order your paper. Remember to order extras! You will find this beneficial in the case of last minute guest add-ons or for those who’d like a second invitation for scrapbooking or mementos.
Now the proofing begins!
It is essential to meticulously check your proof for typos and omissions. Only after you are completely satisfied will your invitation go into production. Please remember that once you have signed off on your proof, no additional changes can be made.
2. Production
Once you have finalized your invitation, the production stage begins. Invitations for events such as baptisms and birthday parties typically take about 1 week for printing. Wedding stationary packages are usually more intricate; depending on the number of pieces to be printed, printing can take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks.
The amount of time required to assemble your invitation varies from project to project. On average, assembly time takes between 2 and 4 weeks.
In order to facilitate the design process, we request that you book your consultation at least 4 months before you would like to send out your invitations.
Traditionally, wedding invitations go out 6-8 weeks before the wedding. If you are having a destination wedding you should give your guests more notice and plan to send your invitations out at least 3 months before the wedding. Most couples send out Save-the-Date cards – these can go out 6-8 months before the wedding.
